Hola!

I must say, it feels awkward talking about about myself, but it’s a must, so here we go….

Where to begin? How about my introduction to entrepreneurship?

It all began in 2008 when I found myself taking on the roles of operations manager, dispatcher, assistant, accountant, and auditor for an owner-operated trucking business. When the position was presented to me, I was told that I would be the one in charge of booking the trips, but it turned into all of the above.

Thinking back to that time, I still can’t believe I managed to pull off that gig. You see, I didn’t know anything about the industry, nor did I have any experience as a business manager. Billing and managing a team were foreign concepts to me—I had only been a customer service rep.

Ha! I know, go ahead and giggle, because that’s exactly how I felt when this man said to me that he knew I could do it. And sure enough, he was right.

I got a whopping 5 hours of training, and most of it involved staring at this thing called a “load board” (FYI, it’s where you find trips).

The rest was like a crash course in Googling terms I didn’t get and pretending I knew what companies were talking about. It was a wild ride, but guess what? I rocked that role for a solid seven years.

I was practically the queen of creating workflows, managing finances, and keeping everything in line. Sure, looking back, I was doing things like it was the stone age, but I made it work and I loved it!

Fast forward, life threw a curveball with a crazy insurance premium, and the trucking gig had to shut down. But wait, there’s more! I ended up dabbling in running a fitness studio, a college (yep, you read that right), a restaurant, and even a construction business.

I’m not sure how it all fell into place, but luckily, every job I found myself in involved working with small businesses, alongside their owners. And each and every role provided me with the insight to the different obstacles and approaches to apply based on the industry.

Fast forward to today—I am a stay-at-home mom who embarked on a journey to kickstart her own side hustle while caring for my infant son back in 2021. This is when Devoted Financial Solutions came to life—a bookkeeping business that turned out to be a real blessing. Thanks to this side hustle, my husband and I were finally able to make our dream of purchasing our first family home a reality.

Now, let’s get a little more personal.

I’m a Cancer. I’m sure your asking, why the zodiac sign? Because, for a significant part of my life, I felt a sense of shame attached to being an emotional person. I’ve been told, “you’re too emotional, and that’s your problem.” I bought into that narrative for quite some time. But now, I don’t view my emotional traits as a flaw anymore; I see them as a fantastic aspect of who I am.

I channel my emotions into passion for the things and people I care about, extending even to those I haven’t met. Empathy is my strong suit—I can genuinely sense what others are going through. I’m a loving individual, always ready to offer a hug and a sense of belonging.

However, I’m also a realist; I prefer honesty, transparency, and no BS communication.

Sure, I may be labeled as emotional, but guess what? That’s precisely what makes me excel at the things I do.

I’m also a fitness fanatic and outdoor enthusiast. I love staying active—whether it’s playing sports, going kayaking, riding bikes, or hitting the slopes for some snowboarding. If it involves outdoor fun, count me in!

I just love having a good time. Oh, and did I mention I’m quite competitive too? No worries, I won’t cry if I lose, but I might throw in some playful banter! Jejeje – TMI, right?

I’ve got these two amazing and strong-willed boys—my oldest is a wild 3-year-old soon turning four, and the youngest is a little firecracker at one. They keep me on my toes, let me tell you!

Now, stepping into the world of motherhood has been a bit of a wild ride. Add into the mix my business, this newfound blog, my husband’s hustle, and the never-ending house duties—phew, just writing it out makes me tired already.

It’s a lot, I won’t deny that, but you know what? It’s totally doable. That’s where good habits and processes swoop in to save the day.

But enough about me, my friend. Welcome to my blog! I hope you pick up some useful tips and apply these into your business. And if you’re on the brink of launching yours, I’m here to cheer you on and guide you towards a successful, balanced, and joyful journey.

Let’s dive in together! 🚀💖
